full circle adv. (Merriam Webster Dictionary, 2012)
Through a series of developments that lead back to the original source, position, or situation or to a complete reversal of the original position —usually used in the phrase come full circle.
The idea of coming full circle sounds easy enough, however, for some it may pose a challenge. The inspiration behind Full Circle Psychotherapy is twofold; 1) to help each individual child achieve their greatest potential and 2) to allow them to evolve and develop into a healthy and happy human being.
Therapy has the ability to help us to explore our innermost thoughts, feelings and experiences, as well as the relationships with those around us. It takes courage to admit that your son or daughter may be struggling; whether it is at home or in school, it can be painful experience. Perhaps your child is having difficulty focusing in school, they are becoming increasingly more defiant at home or losing interest in the activities they once loved. Whatever your concern may be, we will collaborate to devise a plan that works for you, your child and your family. Together, we will create a safe and nurturing place for your child.
My approach is engaging, collaborative and positive. I specialize in an evidenced-based practice for mood and anxiety disorders and have received training in the following treatment models: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I integrate both behavioral strategies and mindfulness components into my therapeutic approach with clients. This allows for the client to become more self-reliant and, one day, they may no longer require my services!
I want to welcome you to my website and hope to provide the relevant information needed for you to make an informed decision in choosing the right therapist for your child.
